How  to get to the gîte from the airport

Here are the directions to get to us. We strongly recommend printing them out and bringing them with you.

Have a safe trip! From Pointe à Pitre airport to Gwo Caillou Upon leaving the airport, go through several round-abouts. Follow the Basse Terre signs. You will then come onto a 4 lane road, keep to the left on the Basse Terre lane until you reach the exit “Bouillante – Pointe Noire – Route de la Traversée”. Take this exit and keep going straight for several kilometres until you reach the next crossroads where you will take left then right to take the “D23 – Route de la Traversée”. Follow the Route de la Traversée for about 20 kilometres until you reach the coat road. The Route de la Traversée is a stunning road during the day but be careful at night, particularly if it is raining or in a mountain cloud as it is often the case high in the mountains. It may actually remind you of Brittany in the winter so watch out. Once you have reached the stop sign leading onto the coast road (N2), turn left and follows Pigeon – Bouillante direction. You will go through Mahault, and will pass Malendure Beach and the Rocher de Malendure Restaurant on your right. You will also see on your right the Match supermarket which is located directly across a petrol station. The road veers to the right with several restaurants on the left. Then the road veers to the left and follows the sea front. You will see Tichou shop on your right and the Louisilia restaurant on your left. You are almost there. Watch out for the little bridge which goes over the Bourceau River. Go over the bridge and take the road on the left immediately after the bridge. The road is directly opposite the 2 Coquilles restaurant and at that point “Gwo Caillou” is signposted. You are now on the Route de la Glacière. Go straight for about 150 metres, leaving 2 small streets on your right. Stop at the first street on your left and you will see the green gates of Gwo Caillou. If we are not in the carpark, do not hesitate to park your car inside and follow the signs to the reception.
